Each time I think I’ve tried every type of pizza imaginable I come across a new one. That was the case recently when I stopped for dinner at Mulligans Irish Pub & Grill in Franklin, Wisconsin and noticed that they offered a Reuben pizza topped with shredded corned beef, Swiss cheese, shredded cabbage and Thousand Island Dressing.
Before I got a chance to try the pizza however I decided to start with an order of their homemade beer cheese dip, which is served with vegetables and pretzel breadsticks. The baked cheese near the top of the bowl tasted good, and the pretzel breadsticks went perfect with the dip, but the rest of the cheese dip was sort of congealed and just tasted like it had been sitting around way too long.
The Reuben pizza on the other hand tasted great. The only thing holding it back from being even better was that it seemed like it was thrown together a little too quickly. For instance, the toppings weren’t very evenly distributed, with a majority of the corned beef covering about a third of the pizza while the rest didn’t have much corned beef at all. There were also five or six fairly large bubbles in the crust, which could easily be prevented by just kneading the dough a little more. Despite those two things I still loved the pizza though.
Feeling extra hungry? Mulligans also offers two eating challenges. The first challenge is a burger challenge where they dare their customers to finish three pounds of Black Angus Beef topped with eight slices of cheese, 12 strips of bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and a pound of beer battered french fries. The prize if you can finish in under 60 minutes? A $50 gift card and your meal is on the house!
The second eating challenge offered at Mulligans is even crazier than the first and is comprised of eight pounds of shepherd’s pie, which is made up of mashed potatoes, ground beef, cheese, parsnips, peas, carrots and celery and then topped with Guinness gravy. If you can finish all of that in under an hour you receive a $75 Mulligans gift card and the pie is free. If you can’t finish it however it’ll set you back $45 and your picture will be posted on the Mulligans “Weenie Wall.”

Do you know how you can tell when a restaurant is doing breakfast right? When they’re so crowded during that time that they don’t even need to stay open the rest of the day. Blue’s Egg has only been open since last summer, but it has already become one of Milwaukee’s top go-to spots for brunch. In the seven hours a day that they’re open (7am – 2pm) Blue’s has two different menus, a breakfast only menu until 10:30am and a sort of breakfast/lunch hybrid menu for the remaining three and a half hours that they’re open.
During my most recent visit I ordered the Dubliner Benedict, which consists of rye toast topped with corned beef, poached eggs, leeks and a paprika aioli. Each breakfast also includes one side, and out of the almost 20 different side choices I went with the sausage links. I also ordered the Chicken Chorizo Very Stuffed Browns, a pile of hash browns with chicken chorizo and spinach in the middle topped with paprika aioli.
Considering that both items I ordered were topped with paprika aioli it’s a good thing that I liked it. In fact, the aioli (along with the chicken chorizo in the Very Stuffed Browns) pretty much stole the show when it came to this breakfast. You know how sometimes you can have a good meal but there isn’t really anything that takes it to the next level and makes it a great meal? The paprika aioli at Blue’s is what really turned this good breakfast into a great breakfast.

For as many four and five star restaurants as you can find in Las Vegas you can pretty much find an equal number of places to eat for extremely cheap. One of these places is the Victorian Cafe located inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon.
Their regular prices are pretty much in line with what you’d expect to pay at almost any cafe, but the deals come into play between midnight and 8am where for the low price of $5.99 you can enjoy a steak and eggs special that also includes hash browns and toast.
The funny thing about the $5.99 price is that everything else on the menu is way more expensive than the steak and eggs. Want some chicken strips? Those will run you $9.99. How about an omelet? That’ll be $12.99. In fact, two eggs on their own served with toast and hash browns will cost you $8.99 at the Victorian Cafe, but if you add steak into the mix you save three bucks. Maybe it’s just me, but I found that hilarious.
As far as the taste goes, you’re pretty much getting what you pay for, but then again what can you really expect for only $5.99? The eggs and hash browns were good, but the steak was pretty chewy. It was so chewy in fact that my friend Curt compared the consistency of his to a gummy bear and couldn’t even finish it. This worked out in my favor however because he actually paid me $5 to eat the rest of his, so in the end I got almost double the steak and my meal only ended up costing me 99 cents. What a deal!

I call this burger The Bigger Mac because well, it’s exactly like a regular Big Mac but larger. Two times larger to be exact!
Want to make your own? Here’s how:
Step One – Go to McDonald’s and buy two Big Macs. I prefer to go on Mondays when they have the two for $3.33 Big Mac promotion going on. I’m not sure if that’s a nationwide deal or only regional though so your Bigger Mac might cost a little more than mine did.
Step Two – Take the first Big Mac and stack it on top of the second Big Mac.
Step Three – Enjoy your delicious Bigger Mac!
I was walking through New York New York Hotel & Casino one afternoon last month when I was in Las Vegas looking for a quick bite to eat when I came across Greenberg’s Deli. The deli boasts a pretty extensive soup, salad and sandwich selection, but one sandwich immediately caught my eye. The sandwich that I speak of is the Italian Stallion Sandwich, which is comprised of salami, pepperoni, prosciutto ham, provolone cheese, romaine lettuce and pesto aioli all between two slices of ciabatta bread.
When you’re planning to spend all day drinking and gambling it’s important that your first meal of the day provides a strong base in your stomach for all the alcohol you’re going to be drinking over the next 12 or 13 hours, but you also don’t want to eat something so heavy that it’s going to inhibit your ability to get drunk later on. This sandwich is the perfect mix of those two necessities.
