I bought a case of cinnamon rolls from Sam’s Club a while back and had three tubes left that were about to expire so I decided to use them all to make one giant mega roll!
Have you ever heard that joke that goes “Hey, do you wanna eat six pieces of string cheese? Oh, that’s too much cheese? How about if I bread and deep fry them and serve them with a side of marinara sauce?” That’s kinda how I feel about this giant cinnamon roll. Had I made them the normal way the three tubes I used would have made a total of 24 cinnamon rolls and I might have eaten one or two of them. This one though? I ate a quarter of the entire thing for breakfast, which I didn’t realize until after I sat down and did the math equals six cinnamon rolls.
To make the giant cinnamon roll I just took a pizza pan, placed a single cinnamon roll right in the middle and then just rolled all the other cinnamon rolls right around it. I was actually a little nervous that they wouldn’t all fit, but it ended up working our perfectly, so for the record, if you ever want to combine three tubes of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls into one giant cinnamon roll you’ll need a 12 1/2″ pizza pan.
Then I just followed the exact cooking directions from the can, threw it in the oven and then took all the frosting that Pillsbury includes with the cinnamon rolls and drizzled it over the top of mine. Oh, and I also diced and fried a half pound of bacon and added that to the top of the cinnamon roll as well!
Maybe it was the addition of the bacon on top or maybe I’m just a weirdo who likes cinnamon rolls more when theyr’e sliced triangularly vs. circularly, but I liked this giant cinnamon roll way better than I liked eating the exact same cinnamon rolls individually when I made them the normal way.
