McDonald’s Apple Pie Stuffed Brownies

I’ve been winning so many free apple pies from the McDonald’s Monopoly game that I don’t know what to do with them anymore. So, I decided to bake them inside some brownies!McDonald's Apple Pie Stuffed BrowniesI swear, every time McDonald’s brings their Monopoly game back I tell myself I’m just going to casually play it. Maybe grab a breakfast sandwich and some hash browns, peel a couple game pieces and see what happens. Then a week later I’m sitting in my car surrounded by empty fry boxes, muttering about how I only need one more piece to win an RV or a trip to the Kennedy Space Center.

This year I didn’t win a car. I didn’t win one of the bigscreen TVs they were giving away. I definitely didn’t win the $1 million in cash. What I did win though was a small mountain of free food including more apple pies than any normal human should have access to at once.

And if you’ve been reading DudeFoods for a while, you already know where this is going. When life gives me free McDonald’s food, I turn it into something absurd. I did it a few weeks back with the Breakfast Big Mac and now here I am with apple pie stuffed brownies.McDonald's Apple Pie Stuffed Brownies

Don’t get me wrong, I love the apple pies from McDonald’s but after eating one of them every single day for a couple weeks straight I started getting a little sick of them. So yeah, I stuffed some of them inside some fudge brownies and I have absolutely zero regrets about it.

My other idea to use all my pies was to volunteer to bring dessert to my family’s Thanksgiving and just show up with individual McDonald’s apple pies for every single person there instead of one or two regular sized pies. We’re more of a pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving type of family though so I’m not sure how well that would fly.

Prior to trying this I wasn’t even sure if apple pies and brownies would go together very well, but surprisingly it somehow works. The apple pie filling cut through the richness of the chocolate perfectly, and the crust stayed just crispy enough to give every bite some texture. It’s one of those desserts that’s way better than it has any right to be.McDonald's Apple Pie Stuffed Brownies

What might be the best part about baking brownies with entire apple pies inside them though is that the smell is next-level. You get the chocolate aroma from the brownies mixed with the apple-cinnamon scent from the pies, and when you walk into your kitchen it’s basically like stepping right into a Yankee Candle store.

McDonald’s Monopoly might not have made me rich, but it did give me the tools to create something that tastes like winning. So, the next time you’ve got a few extra McDonald’s apple pies lying around or if you just need an excuse to “accidentally” win some more go grab a box of brownie mix and make these. You can thank me later.

  • Line an 8"x8" baking dish with McDonald's apple pies.
  • Prepare brownie mix according to the directions on the box.
  • Pour brownie mix over the apple pies in the baking dish.
  • Cook according to the directions on the box. You may need to bake them for a little while longer than the directions call for though. The mix I used said to bake for 40 – 45 minutes and I baked mine for almost an hour until a toothpick inserted into the brownies finally came out smooth.
