The McEverything

The McEverythingWhen it comes to food $141.33 can get you a lot. In fact, it’s more than enough for a pretty decent meal for two at a really nice restaurant. Or you can do what I did recently and spend that exact same amount buying one of every single sandwich — breakfast sandwiches included — that McDonald’s offers…. Actually, I should correct myself. The price of the sandwiches was $140.33… the extra dollar was for the Diet Coke that I added to my order.

You see, I have a bucket list, but instead of things like sky diving, swimming with sharks or other death defying feats of adventure that you’d find on most typical bucket lists mine is completely food related. The number one thing on my list for two or three years now has been to make this sandwich, which I’ve dubbed the McEverything.

So why didn’t I build this monster creation earlier? Honestly, I figured that if I went into a McDonald’s location and ordered 43 different sandwiches — which is how many the fast food giant offered as of the writing of this story — that they’d either think I was totally insane or just completely hate me for having them make so many different sandwiches as part of just one order.

I finally decided to give it a shot though and I’m happy to report that the entire crew at the McDonald’s located on 66th and North Avenue in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin was more than accommodating. They even seemed a little excited to see just how tall the McEverything turned out to be.

Since I wanted to include both breakfast and lunch sandwiches as part of the McEverything I showed up about 30 minutes prior to the end of breakfast service just to give the workers enough time to assemble all the breakfast sandwiches before the menu switched over to lunch. They were also able to ring everything up all on one receipt as well, so I didn’t have to place two orders which was nice.

After all 43 sandwiches were finished and sitting at my table I got to work putting the McEverything together. I originally anticipated it only being a couple of feet high, but as you can see from the pictures it ended up MUCH taller than that. I took a few photos along the way as well just so the whole thing wouldn’t be a total waste if ended up tumbling over onto the floor before I finished stacking all the sandwiches on top of one another. Oh, and if you’re wondering how I held the entire thing together the answer is bamboo skewers… lots and lots of bamboo skewers….

Aside from keeping the McEverything from toppling over as I was assembling it I’d say that the hardest part of building it was not eating any of the sandwiches until it was complete. I’m a total sucker for McDonald’s sandwiches, especially their McGriddles.

Now, I know that some of you are probably reading this right now and thinking to yourself “Man, what kind of idiot spends $142 on 43 McDonald’s sandwiches?” The way I see it though is that with all the leftovers I have I’ve got all my breakfasts, lunches and dinners covered for the next week or so!

Bro, if you eat that shit for breakfast lunch and dinner for the next week this may very well be one of your last blogs you ever write. Those buns will be like bricks tomorrow evening. Lmao. Pretty cool idea though. I wonder if there’s a section in guiness for that. ? Anyway, cool pic and interesting article. Best option wouod probably be to find some homeless people and give the sandwiches to them.

Impressive! I count 42 sandwiches on the trays and 42 on the receipt you have in the photo. With McDonald’s sandwiches (based on 18 from their lunch menu) averaging about 480 calories, you could eat 3 per day for 14 days, consuming about 1440 calories per day, for a total of 20,160 calories by the end of two weeks. While it might not be a diet for a body champion, you are definitely a champion burger kabob maker! Congrats!

So the average price of a McDonald’s hamburger in the US is around 3.25 USD. Given that the average cost of a burger in Switzerland is 5.65 USD, you’d have paid a lot more than 143 bucks for that meat-bun stack. But since McDonald’s Switzerland only sells 9 different burgers instead of the whopping 43 varieties of its US counterpart, you’d still have saved 92 bucks 🙂

Seriously don’t get the negative nellies. Their main 2 arguments make 0 sense. Money? People will spend 800.00 on a pair of shoes or thousands on a handbag, it’s nobody’s business what someone else spends their money on, who cares? He’s not hurting anyone. And the health “advocates” don’t seem to understand that this is a bucket list item, almost by definition something you’ve never done before and will likely not do again. One totally unhealthy, perhaps disgusting, meal is not going to send him to an early grave! Lol relax peeps it’s all in good fun. I think it’s pretty cool. My hubby did an octostacker challenge at Wendy’s (8 patties with cheese) and is generally one of the healthiest people I know. Kudos for checking off a bucket list item 🙂

Ps the fact the your bucket list is all foods reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where homer’s bucket list is all buckets of (mostly food) things (like shrimp and tartar sauce)
