The Chopped Chicago Style Hot Dog

There’s this new trend going around where people are taking a bunch of ingredients, chopping them up and mixing everything together and putting it on a bagel. Well, here’s a Chicago style hot dog version of that same idea! The Chopped Chicago Style Hot DogPersonally I don’t care what anyone puts on their hot dog, but since this was a Chicago style hot dog I adhered to the strict guidelines when it came to toppings. I started off with a some Vienna Beef hot dogs along with diced white onions, tomato slices, dill pickle spears, sport peppers, sweet relish, mustard and celery salt. I threw all my ingredients on a cutting board and got to chopping!

Once everything was finely chopped and thoroughly mixed together I grabbed my poppy seed hot dog buns, spread the mixture onto them and gave them another drizzle of mustard for good measure.

I wasn’t sure how well this chopped version of hot dogs would work because even though the exact same traditional Chicago style hot dog ingredients are there the texture is obviously different, but I actually ended up liking this chopped version even more because you get a little bit of every ingredient in every single bite. Obviously that’s already pretty easy to do normally with things like diced onions and relish, but there are definitely times I’ve been eating Chicago style hot dogs where I got way too much pickle or way too much tomato and not enough of everything else in a bite and this chopped Chicago style hot dog seems to be the perfect solution!
