Denny’s recently added some new choices to their value menu and one of these items is the Fried Cheese Melt. The “grilled cheese with a twist” as they refer to it is two pieces of sourdough bread with American cheese in between them. The “twist” is that unlike a regular grilled cheese sandwich, this one includes four fried mozzarella sticks as well.

They’ve got three locations already (with a fourth opening soon) and for only $6.99 (including drink!) you can stuff your face with as much pizza, pasta, soup, salad and dessert as you want. If you ever find yourself in Madison, Wisconsin, Champaign, Illinois or Norman, Oklahoma you might wanna do yourself a favor and check out Fat Sandwich Company. I stopped by the Madison location while I was in town for a wedding and got the “Fat Joint” sandwich, which consists of Cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks, ham, eggs, mayo, ketchup and a pile of fries on a roll. Sometimes when I go out I drink a lot, and usually when I drink a lot I get hungry. Occasionally when I’m hungry after a night of drinking I’ll stop somewhere and get something to eat, but more often than not I instead end up back at home going through the refrigerator putting as much stuff into one sandwich as I can.
