I was walking through New York New York Hotel & Casino one afternoon last month when I was in Las Vegas looking for a quick bite to eat when I came across Greenberg’s Deli. The deli boasts a pretty extensive soup, salad and sandwich selection, but one sandwich immediately caught my eye. The sandwich that I speak of is the Italian Stallion Sandwich, which is comprised of salami, pepperoni, prosciutto ham, provolone cheese, romaine lettuce and pesto aioli all between two slices of ciabatta bread.
When you’re planning to spend all day drinking and gambling it’s important that your first meal of the day provides a strong base in your stomach for all the alcohol you’re going to be drinking over the next 12 or 13 hours, but you also don’t want to eat something so heavy that it’s going to inhibit your ability to get drunk later on. This sandwich is the perfect mix of those two necessities.
