Win a DROID RAZR HD and a $50 Gift Card From Verizon Wireless!

Motorola DROID RAZR HDIt's funny how fast technology advances, especially when it comes to cell phones. I remember paying $500 or something equally ridiculous - in addition to signing a two-year contract - when the original Motorola RAZR came out eight years ago and then marveling at how amazing it was. Within four years - and after many price drops - the RAZR went on to sell 130 million units.

Recently, Motorola launched the new DROID RAZR HD, and since I'm part of the Verizon Wireless Savvy Gourmets program they're hooking me up with one to give away to one lucky DudeFoods reader! The winner will also receive a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card to use towards their bill, some sweet new phone accessories or anything else Verizon related.

Wanna win? Just leave a comment on this blog post letting me know which DROID RAZR feature you're most excited for. Just in case you're not familiar with the new phone, here are some of its pluses:

  • An 8-megapixel camera and HD display that makes movies, photos, magazines and websites appear with vibrant clarity.
  • Circles Widget makes it easy to view battery life, text notifications, missed calls or weather updates, right on the home screen.
  • Near-field communications-enabled, so customers can use Android Beam to share contacts, documents and maps directly to compatible phones.
  • A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB.
  • Runs over 4G LTE, combined with Chrome for Android, meaning customers can enjoy blazing fast speeds that make downloading documents or surfing the Web a breeze.
  • Device is Global Ready, so calling home or sending emails is possible from more than 205 countries around the world.

Well, what are you waiting for? Leave a comment below and tell me what your favorite feature is! I'll pick a random winner on Friday, December 14th. Good luck!

Update: 12/15/2012 - Congratulations to AJ who is now the proud new owner of a DROID RAZR HD and a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card! AJ was most excited about the carbon fiber back on the phone. Really man, between the 4G LTE service, crazy battery life and awesome camera the thing you're most excited for is the carbon fiber back? Oh well, enjoy your new phone!

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Midwest Savvy Gourmets program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

  1. That HD screen looks brilliant! Plus, I'm in favor of the Android operating system. I'm sure it runs like BUTTER on this new RAZR HD!

  2. I love the 4.7" screen because at my age, my eyes are begging for cheaters and the new/larger screen will allow me to hold off on those for a 'wee bit longer!

  3. Near-field communication is my favorite feature of the droid. Watched my friends do that share and was envious since I can't do that with my iPhone.

  4. The battery on my current Android phone is horrible...I barely get 8 hours on it. I'd love a phone that can do 32 hours...absolutely insane!

  5. I dont see the huge advantage of the HD, running a razr maxx and updated OS and now get 15 hours of life maxx #allbsgivemethehd hahaha

  6. It's the battery life and memory for me. I currently have a dinosaur phone (Galaxy Prevail). It's old and I can't store anything. I have to charge it every 6 hours even if it's not being used.

  7. I love the slimness of it - I too had an original RAZR, and I used to be able to shove it in my wristlet when going out.

  8. I love the HD screen and the Smart Actions but also not to forget the immense battery life! I would love to give this to my girlfriend for Christmas! She's never had a Droidxperience. 😛

  9. Umm It's free that would be the best feature or I could say •Runs over 4G LTE, combined with Chrome for Android, meaning customers can enjoy blazing fast speeds that make downloading documents or surfing the Web a breeze.

    Thanks for the opportunity.

  10. It's all about the battery life. Most of the other features are similar to other phones. The battery is what is great!

  11. My favorite feature is the Circles Widget that makes it easy to view battery life, text notifications, missed calls or weather updates, right on the home screen. That would be super-helpful.

  12. I love the 8 megapixel camera. I never carry my camera around anymore and need a great camera on my phone to capture all of the amazing moments that happen everyday in my kids lives. 🙂

  13. Battery life, and well circle widgets just seem cutting edge and neat. Not to mention that camera would come in handy to snap some pics of my food and annoy my friends with.

  14. 32 hours of use! Thats my favorite feature... I have yet to find a phone that I don't have to charge at some point during the day. If this one is truly a charge-overnight-and-you're-done-for-the-day kind of phone, I'd be in like Flynn!

  15. I don't know much about phones but the battery life is very intriguing especially if its boasting 32 hours of normal use! 🙂 That's incredible to say the least.

  16. Longer battery life is a huge bonus. I feel naked when my phone dies! Another plus which isn't listed is the gorilla glass this phone has. I dropped my current phone once and it now has a huge crack in the screen. I even dropped it onto carpet!!! I don't want to feel like I'm holding a newborn every time I text somebody.

  17. With that big screen, I don't need to print out recipes any more, I can just cook with the phone on the counter.

  18. Unfortunatly Im too poor to have tried this phone out before, but the battery life feature sounds awesome!

  19. The fact this phone has an 8-megapixel camera and HD display is so exciting to me, I love taking photos and all too often cellphone cameras end up taking horrible photos but not so with this phone!

  20. Love DudeFoods! Won a tasty pint of Starbucks ice cream a while back.

On to the RAZR HD, I absolutely love NFC and the new features it can bring to the phone. NFC is leading edge and is a good example of why I love droid phones over Apple.

  21. Tie between battery life, and NFC communication. Hopefully compatible with the galaxy s3 NFC, its a great feature!

  22. I am looking fwd to the battery life my phone dies all the time (from being on Dudefoods.com)

Also looking forward to the 4g so i can finally get use out of my TWC Cable account which does not work on 3g.

  23. I am most excited for A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB.

  24. I am most excited for Runs over 4G LTE, combined with Chrome for Android, meaning customers can enjoy blazing fast speeds that make downloading documents or surfing the Web a breeze.

  25. When I look for new phones, battery life and storage are the most important factors. Glad to see that the new RAZR will have increased capabilities in both areas. The HD is just icing on a cake.

  26. The battery life is awesome, and the HD screen is fantastic!

The internal 32GB storage is more than enough for me for my music and movie collections!

  27. I gotta say that, besides the long battery life which is a requirement for any phone I get, the speedy 4G LTE is my favorite feature. I'm constantly on the internet researching other computer technologies and tethering my phone to my computer. Which needs a fast internet speed.

  28. Battery life tops it for me - what's the use of having all sorts of exciting features if you can't enjoy them for longer.

  29. definitely carbon fiber finish. that combined with all the high tech software and hardware, this is the phone batman would use!

  30. I love that the battery lasts up to 32 hours. My current phones needs to be charged every couple hours and I don't do much on it.

  31. favorite spec:
A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB.

  32. Good Features are the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, Android OS, v4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait; The best feature is its better than the current phone I have 🙂

  33. Every single thing. I'm up for an upgrade on Dec 12th and am more than ready to move into the smartphone world. My old phone is an embarrassment! I'm stoked about the battery time, also, for sure. Thanks!

  34. Everything looks very inmpressive! Of course I'm still using the original Motorola Droid that I bought when it first came out, so the specs have definitley improved a ton. If I had to pick one thing it would be the battery life!

  35. It's gotta be the near-field communications, sharing photos/videos of the kids with my wife would be so much easier! And maybe I'll get lucky and get an entirely different type of video 😉

  36. Once you go Motorola Razr you never go back. The edge to edge screen and battery life is amazing! Team Razr baby!

  37. A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB. Nice

  38. This is the feature I'm looking for: "Runs over 4G LTE, combined with Chrome for Android, meaning customers can enjoy blazing fast speeds that make downloading documents or surfing the Web a breeze."

I live in an area where the only time I have internet is at work. This phone would let me go on the internet anytime.

  39. An 8-megapixel camera and HD display that makes movies, photos, magazines and websites appear with vibrant clarity.

  40. Favorite feature has got to be the battery life. I have the droid razr maxx and it lasts for days without charging.

  41. A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB. That's awesome!

  42. DAT BATTERY! I've always shied away from Motorola products, but that battery life is pretty much the best you can get.

  43. Most impressed with larger screen and 8mp camera. Thanks for the chance to win this amazing phone! I hope to be using it for video's of my 2 yr old and 5 yr old on Christmas morning!

  44. The camera is amazing! Say good bye to my digital camera. I love all the smart phone camera apps these days and with this phone you could use them to their max!

  45. I have an HTC that isn't terrible with the battery life but is not the best either. I really like the battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use with the RAZR!

  46. I think this would be a step up from the tracfone I currently use. And I would love to access your site from a phone instead of my work computer all the time.

  47. The phone I have now is a bunch of junk. I would love to own this phone. The HD screen and battery life seems awesome!

  48. A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB.

  49. With Android beam and 4g lte you can easy grab an HD Movie which is about 12 gigs and still have plenty of room for pics and books to read because of the massive 32 gigs on onboard memory. The best feature has to be the new HD display which I think rivals the IPhone 5.

  50. Like: A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB.

  51. I like the circles widget and the long battery life the most, but if I were have to choose, it would be the long battery life.

  52. I'm sure you're getting quite a but of money for completely selling out and that's great for you but this is the last time I will be coming to this site.

Used to be a favorite. So unfortunate.

    1. Because I had a contest giving away a phone? Ha ha ha. It's not like anything else has changed. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I don't really think that's the case at all.

  53. •A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB.

  54. I have always been a Motorola guy. I love the fact that it has an 8 megapixel camera and a battery that will give you some significant time in between charges. The Android operating system makes it all the more fun to use.

  55. Motorola always makes great products. I have researched many phones but this one keeps coming up due to its amazing battery life for those of us who don't live tethered to a desk and are outdoors where there are no plugs!

  56. The huge 32gb of internal storage is what I am most excited about because that will let me have all my music on the go in my razr and still have plenty room for pictures and other data!

  57. Global ready. Being able to take my phone on work trips without having to buy a SIM card in a foreign airport is a huge win.

  58. The battery life- not having to worry that my phone won't make it through the day with me and not being able to get in touch with my family and kids as a result. A hassle free day with a hassle free phone!

  59. All the features are awesome!!! I love 8 mp camera the most, as I can now capture the beautiful moments of my little one whenever I want:)

  60. Hard to argue with extended battery life. That was always a big issue for me with previous models, so I'm glad it's being looked at.

  61. 8-megapixel camera sounds like a winner. What a treat it is to take high quality photos from your phone. Happy Holidays!

  62. The battery life:

"A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use" blows my current phone away. I mean most people dont really consider battery life a huge deal, but if you are on the go it really matters!

  63. The camera looks great, but the display has to be the best feature. Put that together with with the battery life and the 4g and this has to be the best phone ever!

  64. I want one so bad, the battery life on my current phone is so bad. The battery life has to be the best feature!

  65. That battery is by FAR my favorite feature. There's nothing more annoying then trying to get thru a whole day at work without your battery going dead, usually by lunch, and having no way to charge it!!

  66. The battery life, I get tired of charging my phone all the time. Better battery life means not as much electricity being used and that saves me money.

  67. I'm stoked about Verizon 4G LTE and Motorola! These two go together like cocoa and marshmallows! Forget a Red Rider BB Gun, Santa. Dudefoods bring me a Droid Razr HD for the holidays pleaseeee! :]

  68. I'm definitely the most excited about the NFC capabilities. And not just because of that commercial with the dad going off on a business trip and hit hot wife giving him a "private video".
I think it is a cool technology.

  69. My favorite feature are the on screen buttons and the durable construction with nano coating. I often let my toddler play with my phone when he's restless somewhere he doesn't have anything to play with, so he has a problem accidentally pushing the capacitive buttons while he holds it, plus this new one seems even tougher than the original Droid RAZR maxx that I have. Anyway, awesome phone all-around and thanks for the opportunity!

  70. The battery on this phone would help me so much. I go to community college 20 hours a week and work retail 40 hours a week. I don't have enough money to get a new phone and my current phone only stays charged for 2 hours max a day. Leaving me driving home with a dead cellphone at night.

  71. love the Circles Widget which makes it easy to view battery life, text notifications, missed calls or weather updates, right on the home screen

  72. Battery life, my friend. (Although I'm suspicious of that 32 hour figure, it should be able to surpass the 2-3 hour life of many other phones.)

  73. I have to say the 8 mp camera and the hd display are probably the best features. I use my phone to take most of my pictures anyway so having an 8 mp camera would be amazing

  74. I'm really excited for all of the features. Currently the phone I have doesn't even have a camera. So I guess the Camera and the fact that texting will be easier would be the best features.

by the way, just started reading your site. I love some of the stuff you have done.

  75. Should be large enough to carry a stack of crackers, a stack of salami, and a stack of cheese on. If not, at least the cheese and crackers.

  76. For me an 8-megapixel camera is my favorite feature. Great contest thanks for the chance to win a new DROID RAZR HD.

Happy holiday and New Years all!

  77. Love the 8-megapixel camera and HD display that makes movies, photos, magazines and websites appear with vibrant clarity.

  78. What?!!! 32 hours of battery life? That's awesome. Would love to win this.. thanks for the giveaway and happy holidays <3

  79. Runs over 4G LTE, combined with Chrome for Android, meaning customers can enjoy blazing fast speeds that make downloading documents or surfing the Web a breeze.
