The Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Bowl

Why use an ice cream bowl when you can eat your ice cream bowl? After making this Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Bowl I don't think I ever want to eat my dessert any other way ever again!

Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Bowl

Last month I made ice cream cones of of cinnamon rolls and for as awesome as they were they were a bit messy. Most of that was my fault for adding way more frosting than necessary but then again, when it comes to cinnamon rolls can you ever really have too much frosting?

When I was a kid a kid and my mom would take me to the mall and we'd walk past the food court I'd ask for a cinnamon roll from Cinnabon every single time and somehow I'd also convince her to buy me a side order of extra frosting to add to the top of it. Thinking back on that now it's kinda crazy that I only ever ended up with two cavities total in my entire life because anyone eating that much sugar probably shouldn't even have any teeth left at all....

To make these bowls I once again picked up a can of cinnamon rolls from the grocery store and popped it open, but this time instead of a metal cone I wrapped the cinnamon rolls around a glass Pyrex bowl. I then added a second, slightly larger Pyrex bowl on top of the first one to help shape the cinnamon roll bowl as it baked.

In terms of messiness when my Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Bowl was sitting on a plate and I was eating it that way it wasn't too messy at all, but when I tried to hold the bowl in my hand and eat it like that it was actually messier than the Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Cones. Once again though, that problem probably could have been avoided a bit had I not put so much of the frosting on the outside of the bowl.

Either way though, I really think I'm onto something here as far as using cinnamon rolls as a vessel to get ice cream into my mouth. Maybe next time I'll try some sort of cinnamon roll taco shell and fill that with ice cream. Sort of like an even more sugary version of a Choco Taco!
