Deep Fried Papa John's Garlic Sauce
Ever wondered what it would look like if you took Papa John's Garlic sauce and deep fried it? Well... look no further!

It's been years since I've eaten a pizza from Papa John's and you know what? I don't miss it at all. What I do miss though is the Papa John's garlic dipping sauce that comes with their pizza. Luckily for me you can now buy it by the bottle in stores! I picked my bottle up at Walmart, but I've also seen them in my local Kroger store as well, so it seems like the bottles are pretty widely available.
Obviously I couldn't just dip my pizza crust in the garlic sauce like I used to though. Instead I decided to freeze it into cubes, bread them and deep fry them!
So, I squirted the garlic sauce into a rubber ice cube tray, threw it in my freezer for a couple hours and then popped out the frozen cubes, coated them in flour, dunked them in an egg and milk mixture and tossed them in breadcrumbs.
I put them back in the freezer for about an hour, heated my deep fryer to 375° and fried them for about 45 seconds until they were golden brown.
In keeping with the pizza theme I used Italian breadcrumbs but any type of breadcrumbs would work just as well. Panko breadcrumbs actually might have been a better choice, just to give them a little thicker breading because the second I bit into these all the garlic sauce pretty much just squirted out.
I tried dipping the deep fried garlic sauce balls in both pizza sauce and also even more Papa John's Garlic Sauce and pizza sauce was definitely the one I preferred just because I'm not sure anyone should eat that much Papa John's Garlic Sauce at once.
Seriously, I can eat any amount of pretty much anything without feeling sick and after five or six of these I definitely wasn't feeling the greatest. To be fair though those five or six cubes totaled almost an entire bottle of sauce which according to the nutritional information on the back of the bottle would mean I ate almost 3,000 calories, almost 4,000mg of sodium and 315 grams of total fat, and that doesn't even include the breading or the fact that they were deep fried in oil.
