One of the best parts about the Wisconsin State Fair is the food, and some of the most popular foods at the fair come on a stick. This year you could get deep fried apple pie on a stick, deep fried cream cheese on a stick and deep fried peanut butter & jelly sandwiches on a stick along with numerous other stick worthy items.
The food on a stick that I was looking forward to the most however turned out to be a huge disappointment. This year, Cousins Subs offered a deep fried Philly cheese steak on a stick. For some reason I imagined it would consist of one of their seven and a half inch Philly cheese steak sub sandwiches deep fried and served on a wooden stake big enough to kill a vampire with.
After waiting in line for five minutes to order one though, what I was presented with was something that was only about four inches long that could easily be finished in two or three normal sized bites. This was my biggest State Fair food letdown by far. I guess maybe I should have tried for the spaghetti & meatballs on a stick or the deep fried 5-cheese ravioli on a stick instead…
