Fat Sandwich Company

The "Fat Joint" from Fat Sandwich CompanyIf you ever find yourself in Madison, Wisconsin, Champaign, Illinois or Norman, Oklahoma you might wanna do yourself a favor and check out Fat Sandwich Company. I stopped by the Madison location while I was in town for a wedding and got the “Fat Joint” sandwich, which consists of Cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks, ham, eggs, mayo, ketchup and a pile of fries on a roll. After finishing this delicious sandwich all I could think about was how much I wish there was a Fat Sandwich Company location in Milwaukee and how I’d eat there as often as possible. I then thought about how much weight I’d gain from all these Fat Sandwich excursions however and suddenly I was OK with the fact that the closest location is an hour and a half drive from my house.

Other notable sandwiches include the “Fat Mess” (Mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, fried mushrooms, mac ‘n cheese bites, pizza bites, ranch and BBQ sauce), the “Fat Tailgate” (Cheeseburger, mini comdogs, ketchup and mustard) and their signature sandwich the “Big Fat Ugly.” The Big Fat Ugly is the size of a football and includes two rolls, four cheeseburgers, a double cheesesteak, chicken cheesesteak, gyro meat, chicken, bacon, sausage, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, chicken nuggets, mac ‘n cheese bites, fried mushrooms, jalapeno poppers, pizza bites, onion rings, hash browns, American cheese, mayo and ketchup. All that for the bargain basement price of $25. If you can finish it in under 15 minutes however it’s free and you even get a free t-shirt!

The one in Madison closed down. Went there for a friends birthday and stared at the empty shop with a look of sadness and confusion on my face.
