Sobelman’s Big SOB Burger

The Big SOB Burger at Sobelman'sSobelman’s has long been known to have some of the best burgers in Milwaukee. Hell, the URL to their website is milwaukeesbestburgers.com, so with a gutsy name like that they better be good. I stopped by on a recent Friday night to try their Big SOB Burger, which consists of four 1/3 pound fresh Black Angus patties, three different cheeses (with 12 slices of cheese in total), bacon, grilled onions and diced jalapenos along with fries on the side.

My burger was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. I also really loved the fresh butter roll that the burger was served on, so I was a little disappointed to learn that the rolls are baked exclusively for Sobelman’s, because I’d love to be able to buy the same kind of rolls and use them when I grill out at home.

I actually thought the Big SOB would be a little more difficult to finish, but I really had no problem at all. I honestly think I could have eaten two of them. Who knows though, the fact that it was so easy to eat could be a testament to just how good the burgers at Sobelman’s really are. I even ate the rest of the chicken wings that my buddy Chris ordered but couldn’t finish because he was too full to eat them all. Too full after eating his one patty burger…

I really do. If there would have been another one sitting next to me when I finished the first one I would have dug right in.

Awesome burger, Nick! We ate at a FiveGuys burger place in Georgia. It wasn’t nearly as big, but included lots of toppings and was very tasty. We ordered a regular size fries. I don’t know if it was a mistake or if they typically WAY overfill the fry container, but our bag was practically filled with fries when I opened it. Easily 2-3 times what would fit in the container.

Oh, I forgot to say, the fries are natural, skin on, and cooked in peanut oil – Very Good!

I love Five Guys. We have a couple locations here in Milwaukee now. That pretty much always happens with the fries. I’ll order a small order and they still usually completely fill the bag with them.

Yep, there’s on at Bayshore Mall, one at Mayfair Mall and one right off the freeway on the way out towards Madison.
