Candy Corn Corn Dogs Recipe

Level up your corn dogs for Halloween with this recipe that takes the already sweet batter and makes it even sweeter with the addition of candy corn!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 quarts oil for frying
  • 6 hot dogs
  • 6 corn dog sticks or chopsticks if you can't find corn dog sticks
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in deep fryer or heavy skillet to 375°F.
  • In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and pepper. Stir in egg, milk and candy corn.
  • Slide each hot dog onto a corn dog stick.
  • Transfer corn dog batter to a tall glass and dip the hot dogs one by one into the batter.
  • Fry corn dogs for 3 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Drain corn dogs on paper towels, and serve with chocolate syrup or your preferred dipping sauce.
