Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • Your choice of toppings I went with sour cream, shredded Cheddar cheese and green onion.

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in egg, milk and vegetable oil.
  • Pour batter into the Bake-a-Bowl Pan.
  • Bake at 375° for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cornbread bowls comes out smooth.
  • Brown the ground beef and drain the fat.
  • Add tomato sauce, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika and cayenne pepper and simmer for an hour.
  • Fill cornbread bowls and top with your choice of toppings.
