Review: Gorton’s Shrimp Bowls

Gorton's Stir Fry With Soba Noodles Shrimp BowlI’ve been eating Gorton’s Fish Sticks since I was a kid, so when they asked me if I wanted to try their new Shrimp Bowls I immediately jumped at the opportunity.

You see, I absolutely love shrimp, but I rarely ever get to eat it since my wife is so allergic to shellfish. In fact, back in July I made some pork sliders for lunch one day that I topped with a mango and shrimp fruit salad and I apparently didn’t clean up after myself well enough. The next day she ended up touching something in our kitchen that the shrimp came in contact with and immediately had hives all over her body. Needless to say, she was not happy….

What I’m loving about these Shrimp Bowls so far though is that since they’re microwavable the cleanup is super easy and there’s no way for me to make a huge mess like I usually do whenever I cook something. They’re also ready in under 6 minutes, which is a huge plus for someone like me who always seems to be multitasking. Oh, and the most important part? They’re actually really, really good!

I’ll have to admit, I’ll always be a little leery about any kind of microwaveable seafood product, but so far I’ve tried both the Stir Fry With Soba Noodles and the Black Garlic & Wine Risotto Shrimp Bowls and both were absolutely delicious. On top of that, you actually get a decent amount of shrimp in each bowl, which hasn’t always the case with other frozen seafood meals I’ve tried. When it comes to these entrées gorton’s definitely doesn’t skimp on the shrimp!

Although I’m pretty sure my wife still doesn’t trust me to not get shrimp residue all over the kitchen any time I eat these Shrimp Bowls it’s been smooth sailing here at home when it comes to allergies for a couple weeks now! Thanks Gorton’s!

I see them at pretty much every grocery store here in the Milwaukee area, but if you go here you can enter your zip code and which product you’re looking for and Gorton’s will tell you where to find it in your area. In your area it looks like Wegmans carry them.

They are not with the frozen meals in my grocery store. I have to go to where the frozen meats and frozen seafood (like fish sticks) are.
