The Bacon Wrapped Macaroni and Cheese Bun Cheeseburger Recipe

Yield: 3 cheeseburgers
  • 2 quarts oil for frying
  • 16 ounces pasta
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3½ cups milk
  • 4 cups (16 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 30 slices bacon
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • lettuce
  • 1 tomato
  1. Cook pasta according to the directions on the package.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and stir in 3 tablespoons flour.
  3. Add 3 cups milk and reduce heat to low.
  4. Stir in cheese slowly until melted and pour over cooked pasta.
  5. Heat oil in deep fryer or heavy skillet to 375°F.
  6. Place 5 bacon strips across the bottom of a mini springform pan in a criss-cross fashion, leaving no open spaces.
  7. Fill the pan with macaroni and cheese and fold the bacon slices over the top of the macaroni and cheese, Remove from pan and repeat the process with the remaining bacon and macaroni and cheese.
  8. Fry bacon-wrapped macaroni and cheese buns for 2 minutes each or until the bacon is cooked through and then drain on paper towels.
  9. Form the ground beef into 3 separate patties and grill until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  10. Top each burger patty with a Cheddar slice and serve with lettuce, tomato or other desired toppings between two bacon-wrapped macaroni and cheese buns.
