The Arby’s Reuben Sandwich

The Arby's Reuben SandwichI gave up fast food for Lent this year. Then, about a week and a half into it I got an email from Arby’s letting me know that they were sending me a gift card so I could try one of their Reuben sandwiches. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted the sandwich, but I think that what I wanted even more was an excuse to eat fast food. After all, now that it was “work” related I HAD to eat at Arby’s!

A regular Reuben at Arby’s will run you $4.99, but for an extra dollar you can double the meat on your sandwich. Another option they offer — and the one that I took advantage of — is the half corned beef and half turkey Double-Stack Reuben. Seeing as how I’d already gone a full two weeks without fast food I figured I’d go all out.

Overall, the Reuben sandwich from Arby’s is pretty good. Here in Milwaukee I’d probably never choose it over a place like Jake’s Deli or Benji’s, but if I’m on my lunch break and don’t have tons of time I could definitely see myself stopping for another one at Arby’s.

If you’re looking to try an Arby’s Reuben for yourself they have a buy one, get one free coupon up on their website right now that lasts through Monday, so for a total of $4.99 you can get two sandwiches, which is a pretty great deal. Oh, and Arby’s? The next time you send me a gift card can you throw a little extra money on it to cover my curly fries and soda? I had to shell out for those on my own.

It was good, but would be better if it was grilled like a true reuben.

Maybe they should use real non-marbled rye bread and Russian dressing instead of cheaping out and using Thousand Island they would have a proper Reuben and wouldn’t be so disappointing. Besides, using Thousand Island makes it a Rachel, not a Reuben.

The dressing doesn’t make it a Rachel, using pastrami and coleslaw instead of corned beef and sauerkraut makes it a Rachel.

I just had my first Reuben from Arby’s & it would’ve been so much better if the bread was grilled! Mine wasn’t even toasted!! Step it up Arby’s

just came home from Arby’s with my husband. I am so mad at myself that I didn’t take a picture of my sandwich or take it back. I love Reuben sandwiches but I assure you this one certainly was nothing like the ones I have eaten at other restaurants, not Arby’s.
The bread was ok. Not like I expected but ok. I thought it would be grilled or at least toasted. The bread had enough sauce, but very little sauerkraut. The corned beef was about 1/4 as much as they advertise on TV. My sandwich was cut in half. One half had maybe 2 layers of corned beef. Half of that half had no corned been at all and hardly any sauerkraut. The other half had a little more corned beef but only about 1/4 in thick. I compared it to an 8 oz package of ham I had at home and it was not 1/2 of that. I was talking to my sister who eats that sandwich a lot and she was telling me what hers was like. She said the sandwich was at least 2 inches thick with lots of sauerkraut and cheese. I said wait a minute, yours had cheese? She said yes. If mine had cheese I don’t know where it was.
They must have forgotten it. I am so sorry to have to write this, but I was so disappointed, I thought I should. Thank you so much for listening to me.
