Win a DROID RAZR HD and a $50 Gift Card From Verizon Wireless!

Motorola DROID RAZR HDIt’s funny how fast technology advances, especially when it comes to cell phones. I remember paying $500 or something equally ridiculous — in addition to signing a two-year contract — when the original Motorola RAZR came out eight years ago and then marveling at how amazing it was. Within four years — and after many price drops — the RAZR went on to sell 130 million units.

Recently, Motorola launched the new DROID RAZR HD, and since I’m part of the Verizon Wireless Savvy Gourmets program they’re hooking me up with one to give away to one lucky DudeFoods reader! The winner will also receive a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card to use towards their bill, some sweet new phone accessories or anything else Verizon related.

Wanna win? Just leave a comment on this blog post letting me know which DROID RAZR feature you’re most excited for. Just in case you’re not familiar with the new phone, here are some of its pluses:

  • An 8-megapixel camera and HD display that makes movies, photos, magazines and websites appear with vibrant clarity.
  • Circles Widget makes it easy to view battery life, text notifications, missed calls or weather updates, right on the home screen.
  • Near-field communications-enabled, so customers can use Android Beam to share contacts, documents and maps directly to compatible phones.
  • A battery that allows for up to 32 hours of normal use and double the internal storage (of older RAZR phones) to 32 GB.
  • Runs over 4G LTE, combined with Chrome for Android, meaning customers can enjoy blazing fast speeds that make downloading documents or surfing the Web a breeze.
  • Device is Global Ready, so calling home or sending emails is possible from more than 205 countries around the world.

Well, what are you waiting for? Leave a comment below and tell me what your favorite feature is! I’ll pick a random winner on Friday, December 14th. Good luck!

Update: 12/15/2012 — Congratulations to AJ who is now the proud new owner of a DROID RAZR HD and a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card! AJ was most excited about the carbon fiber back on the phone. Really man, between the 4G LTE service, crazy battery life and awesome camera the thing you’re most excited for is the carbon fiber back? Oh well, enjoy your new phone!

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Midwest Savvy Gourmets program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

Near-field communication is my favorite feature of the droid. Watched my friends do that share and was envious since I can’t do that with my iPhone.

The battery on my current Android phone is horrible…I barely get 8 hours on it. I’d love a phone that can do 32 hours…absolutely insane!

It’s the battery life and memory for me. I currently have a dinosaur phone (Galaxy Prevail). It’s old and I can’t store anything. I have to charge it every 6 hours even if it’s not being used.

32 hours of use! Thats my favorite feature… I have yet to find a phone that I don’t have to charge at some point during the day. If this one is truly a charge-overnight-and-you’re-done-for-the-day kind of phone, I’d be in like Flynn!

Longer battery life is a huge bonus. I feel naked when my phone dies! Another plus which isn’t listed is the gorilla glass this phone has. I dropped my current phone once and it now has a huge crack in the screen. I even dropped it onto carpet!!! I don’t want to feel like I’m holding a newborn every time I text somebody.

With Android beam and 4g lte you can easy grab an HD Movie which is about 12 gigs and still have plenty of room for pics and books to read because of the massive 32 gigs on onboard memory. The best feature has to be the new HD display which I think rivals the IPhone 5.

My favorite feature are the on screen buttons and the durable construction with nano coating. I often let my toddler play with my phone when he’s restless somewhere he doesn’t have anything to play with, so he has a problem accidentally pushing the capacitive buttons while he holds it, plus this new one seems even tougher than the original Droid RAZR maxx that I have. Anyway, awesome phone all-around and thanks for the opportunity!

  277. Chelsea Lauder

The battery on this phone would help me so much. I go to community college 20 hours a week and work retail 40 hours a week. I don’t have enough money to get a new phone and my current phone only stays charged for 2 hours max a day. Leaving me driving home with a dead cellphone at night.

Battery life, my friend. (Although I’m suspicious of that 32 hour figure, it should be able to surpass the 2-3 hour life of many other phones.)

I have to say the 8 mp camera and the hd display are probably the best features. I use my phone to take most of my pictures anyway so having an 8 mp camera would be amazing

I’m really excited for all of the features. Currently the phone I have doesn’t even have a camera. So I guess the Camera and the fact that texting will be easier would be the best features.

by the way, just started reading your site. I love some of the stuff you have done.
