Waffle Breaded Chicken Nuggets

Waffle Breaded Chicken NuggetsI came up with this idea the last time I made Chicken and Waffle Wings. Don’t get me wrong, those are great and all, but these are absolutely perfect when you want a quick, simple way to enjoy chicken and waffles without dealing with the bones in chicken wings.

I love chicken nuggets. They’re easily one of my favorite snack foods when I’m feeling especially lazy, and breading them with waffles just makes them THAT much better. The best part of all though is that Waffle Breaded Chicken Nuggets are even easier to make than Chicken and Waffle Wings are.

First off, get some chicken nuggets. They can be store bought, they can be from McDonald’s, it doesn’t matter — I used microwavable ones that I picked up at the grocery store. Next up, cook the chicken nuggets according to the directions on the package. If you get yours from a fast food place you obviously don’t need to worry about this since they’ll already be cooked when you get them.

The third step to creating Waffle Breaded Chicken Nuggets is just as simple as the first two — place your chicken nuggets in a preheated waffle iron and drizzle waffle batter over the top of them. After a little experimentation I’ve discovered that one spoonful of batter per nugget is pretty much the perfect amount if you want a little bit of chicken and a little bit of waffle in each and every bite.

Then, once your waffles are golden brown — which should take about two minutes — remove them from your waffle iron, drizzle some maple syrup on them and enjoy! Next up, a Waffle Breaded Chicken Patty Sandwich!

I made these for the superbowl but added cayanne pepper to the batter and had maple syrup, lousiana hot sauce and jerk sauce for dipping. Was a huge success.

    Love the page!!
