Well, another year is in the books! I can’t believe that it’s already been five years since I started this blog. What’s even more amazing though is that after all these years of deep fried, artery clogging foods I’ve someone managed to only gain about 20 pounds.
I’ve always maintained that my dislike for sweets is what kept me from being morbidly obese, wearing a muumuu and being completely confined to my couch, but the fact that four of my top ten posts this year are dessert related shows that maybe I’m gaining more of a sweet tooth as I get older.
Funny side note – I actually do own a muumuu. The mailman dropped a package off at my front door one day and I noticed that it was actually intended for a house down the street. I was about to return it to its rightful owner when I noticed that the return address was from a plus size clothing company so come on, there’s no way I couldn’t not open it at that point right? Anyway, inside the box was a $35 floral print muumuu. I tried it on a couple times and you know what? It’s actually pretty comfortable! What’s also funny is that the side pockets are the perfect size to fit sandwiches in. I’m not sure if that was intended or not, but it’s a nice touch….
I’d also like to give a special thanks to the awesome folks over at Foodbeast for continually writing about me and giving me shout-outs on social media and a not-so-special thanks to the unoriginal turds over at BuzzFeed Food for continually ripping of my ideas without crediting me. From what I’ve heard from other food bloggers though this is a pretty common occurrence.
Seriously, I’m going to make a burger and call it the BuzzFeed Burger and it’s just going to rip off and combine every popular food trend all in one ridiculous burger. It’ll have a Cronut bun, a mac and cheese bun a bacon weave and every other food-related thing that’s been popular over the past couple years.
