I’ve been on a bit of a homemade onion ring kick lately. First it was Kool-Aid Breaded Onion Rings, and more recently Bacon Wrapped Doritos Breaded Onion Rings. Hormel recently sent me a case of their new Black Label Cob Smoked bacon to try out. So what’s cob smoked bacon you ask? I’ve wanted to make Deviled Ostrich Eggs forever. I have a friend who works at a zoo who was supposed to grab me a couple ostrich eggs so I could make it happen, but when one ostrich egg is equivalent in size to about 24 chicken eggs sneaking them out of your place of employment can be pretty difficult I’m guessing.

If there’s one thing I love more than eating food it’s getting a great deal on food. Every Wednesday from 2 – 8pm Colonel Hart’s in Wauwatosa features half price appetizers. I was there one evening with some friends enjoying some mini tacos, mozzarella sticks, fries and chicken tenders when I got to the last chicken tender in the basket and noticed that it looked just like a bear!
