The Arby’s Angus Cool Deli Sandwich

The Arby's Angus Cool Deli SandwichEven though I had a homeless guy review their chicken salad sandwich I’m apparently still in the good graces of Arby’s, as I received an email from them last week offering to send me an Arby’s gift card if I wanted to try their new Angus Cool Deli Sandwich. I’ve never been one to turn down free food so I happily obliged.

The Angus Cool Deli sandwich (or whole grain wrap if you’re going the healthy route) consists of Angus beef (served cool as the name implies), lettuce, tomato, onions, Swiss cheese, banana peppers and pickles, as well as a vinaigrette dressing and some mayonnaise. I’m not a very big fan of pickles or banana peppers however, so I ordered my sandwich without them.

Taste wise I was pretty impressed with the sandwich. There’s only so much you can do with roast beef, so I give Arby’s a lot of credit for continually coming up with new sandwich ideas. Size wise I was WAY more impressed with the Angus Cool Deli Sandwich than I was with their Angus Three Cheese & Bacon Sub that they released earlier this year. Whereas that sandwich seemed extremely undersized for its $4.99 price tag the Angus Cool Deli Sandwich (which also costs $4.99) seemed huge in comparison.

In addition to hooking me up with free food, Arby’s was also nice enough so give me a $20 gift card to give away to one of you. Want to win? Just leave a comment on this post and I’ll pick a winner at random a week from today. Have you tried the Angus Cool Deli Sandwich yet? If so, what did you think? The comment doesn’t even have to be about Arby’s. For example, you could tell me what size shoe you wear or which current popular song you wish you never had to hear again. I personally wear size ten and a half shoes and I can’t stand the Jennifer Lopez song “On The Floor.” I’m not sure what it is, but the way she pronounces “Africa” in that song really annoys me.

Haven’t tried the sandwich yet, but I’m a huge fan of Arby’s and love its beef n’ cheddar sandwich. Throw some curly fries on the side and I’m a happy girl. I’ll have to give this one a try.

Oh man, I love arby’s, but the one that was within reasonable driving distance from my house was turned into a Nathan’s… The only arby’s remaining in my area is a 35min drive. Totally worth making the trip though, especially since that new sandwich looks pretty beefy!

That sandwich kinda looks like a giant horse vagina. Or maybe sliced dachshund skin on a roll. I can’t decide which one it looks like more, but I sure hope I randomly win the gift card so I can try one some day!!

This sandwich looks awesome. I’ll have to give it a try even if I don’t win the gift card! (although winning a $20 Arby’s gift card would be pretty sweet)

I grew up (a LONG time ago) frequently going to Arby’s with my folks. It was obviously not REAL Roast Beef, but as good a simulation as Buddig’s supermarket deli slices. And the Cheddar on the Beef and Cheddar? It’s Nacho Sauce with the peppers surgically removed! Still, Horsey Sauce was my favorite way to consume horseradish until Fake Wasabi came along. When Arby’s started offering Angus Beef sandwiches, I had my doubts… but then I’ve had doubts about the special-ness of Angus Beef ever since Jack in the Box did its infamous comparison commercial hinting at an Angus/Anus connection. Haven’t been able to look at “Angus Third Pounder” on the McD’s menuboard since. Still, I wouldn’t turn down an Arby’s freebie.

We live in a “developing neighborhood” and the Arby’s there is the only fast-food restaurant not entirely bent on ruining their parent company’s reputation. The less said about our closest McDonald’s, the better. *Shudder*

When we were little, our mom would spank us with wooden spoons. My brother and I did something one day to get in trouble so we broke all of her spoons. She pulled out 1 broken spoon after another and finally realized we had done something so we broke them in a pre-emptive strike.
